Jacob always wanted to own his own boss, and was looking for the right opportunity. In 2022, he found out about UBuiltIt, a Franchise System that empowers thousands of people across the US to build their own custom homes. Each UBuiltIt Franchisee advises its customers through the home building process, giving them the control and confidence to make smart decisions that will allow them to avoid costly mistakes and build more home for their money. 

After talking to lenders, Jacob was advised to come talk to the SBDC, and he worked with a Small Business Consultant to create a business plan and financial projections he could take back to the bank. After a lot of work, Jacob obtained his loan and soon found office space, had his official Grand Opening, and got his first customer.
